We recently exchanged words with Claudia Gold, but you may know her as Claw Money. We’re super excited to announce her appearance in the San Diego Comic Con 2015 issue of Color Ink Book Volume 23, featuring her exclusive cover as well. With her work dating back to the late ’80s/early 90’s, Claw has established a name for herself among the street art and graffiti scene in New York and beyond. Now as a fashion designer with her own store and collection, Claw & Co., you can discover more of her work online at www.clawandco.com. But first, don’t miss out what she has to say about her top secret projects, risks and favorite foods.

ADAM: When did you first decide you wanted to be an artist?
CLAW MONEY: I didn’t choose art, art chose me.

Where do you find inspiration for your creations?
Everywhere.

Does music play a role in the creative process and who are you currently listening to?
Yea, music is the background of my life. I listen to everything. I don’t discriminate.

What super secret projects do you have in the works that you can share with us?
A collab with Fila. But shhh, don’t tell anybody!

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
A cat named Teddy and Kiko.

What is your favorite meal of the day?
All. Like music, I don’t discriminate.

What is your favorite medium to work with and why?
Spray paint.

What artists inspire you?
I find inspiration everywhere.

What is the biggest risk that you’ve taken and was it worth it?
Getting married. And yes, it was.

What is the last good movie that you saw?
Kurt Cobain: The Montage of Heck

Can you tell us a little bit about how you arrived at the name ‘Claw Money’?
My first name is Claudia, so that’s where the nickname Claw came from. Last name Gold, so that moved it to Money.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
China. Because it seems like a fascinating place.

Sandwich or burrito?
Sandwich. I mean I love a burrito, but I can’t live without a sandwich. I’m in New York.
