Do you feel comics should be held at the same standard as traditional literature?

There’s good and bad comics, and there’s good and bad prose literature. It’s a silly argument, really. There are certainly comics that can hold their own against the best traditional literary books, but in the end, they are different art forms, and we should embrace that.  Comics falls somewhere in between prose and film, and can tell stories in ways that neither of those can do on their own.  And that’s pretty cool, no?

The words come first, but they don’t take on their full meaning until the images are created.

Your portfolio is staggering, where do you find the time?

Well thank you!  There are certainly never enough hours in the day.  If there was some magic way to get more time to do more work, I certainly don’t know what it is.  I just try to work as much as I can without going crazy.
