Words from Joseph Bergeron

How long have you lived in Louisiana, and what do you like best about it?

I was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. Raised in north Louisiana until I was about 9.
Then my parents split up, and I moved to Boca Raton, Florida. I Finished school there, and moved back to Louisiana after my senior year which was about 10 years ago.
The best thing in Louisiana for me, Is my Family, and my Tattoo Studio! 🙂
The family I do have supports me and what I want to accomplish, and my studio proves to myself and everyone else that I am Hard working, Goal orientated, and push myself to achieve the goals I set out to.

What tunes do you have blasting in your head these days?
TOOL has been my favorite band since middle school, I listen to many different types of music but my favorite is trip hop, bands like Massive Attack, Portishead, KMFDM, The Prodigy etc . . .

Zombie apocalypse whose side are you on?

So how long have you been slinging ink?
This month makes 10 years Tattooing in the industry!  I have seen a lot in that time, I am very Thankful I have my own Studio to work in, and that it is a successful and
well organized for myself and my employees. This industry is truly amazing and very inspiring to an artist. I feel I can never know everything in this industry so I always  have something new to learn, research, draw or paint.

When we come out to visit where are we going to eat?
Well haha Louisiana has a lot to offer when it comes to cultured food, we have a lot of Cajun food here
My dad is a “Coon Ass” from South Louisiana so he can cook his ass off! So we would defiantly head that
way for some authentic Cajun food! Gumbo, Crawfish, and red beans and rice are just a few of the foods from here
that people from all over enjoy.

Funniest thing that ever happened to you?
This one time at Band Camp . . . . .

What is your favorite watering hole?
Is that a metaphor for my favorite place to drink, or favorite place to fish? Either way, I do
little to none of either so I don’t have an answer. 🙂

How do you spend your free time, i.e. skydiving, sniffing glue, watching movies or??
I spend most of my down time, drawing, painting, and looking at other peoples artwork!
I love creating mixed media artwork as well, I love many different mediums. Keeping it interesting since 1983!

Any words of wisdom for future artists?
Push yourself to the MAX! There are SO many truly amazing artists out there, and if you expect to go anywhere, you have to give your all!  There is always something more to do, more to learn and even more to create… This world is a playground to our imagination and you can learn a lot about Tattooing and Art pretty much everywhere you look so Never stop Looking, Learning and Applying.

What do you think is your best quality?
I am a very giving person, and word on the street is I give good advice!
I like to see people succeed, and love teaching others and putting into life what I want to get back from it. I don’t talk about it, I try to always be about it and make things happen towards the
Bigger Better Picture.

What, if any TV shows are you watching?

Where do you find inspiration for your work?
My clients, My friends, My family, and my Co-workers. Basically everyone in my everyday life!
Surrounding yourself with creative colorful people is always a sure way to strike up inspiration and create unique works of art.

Sandwich or Burrito?
Depends on the sandwich, and the Burrito!! I’d say I prefer a Sandwich though. With Tony Chachere’s on top.
